Is the WC3 consortium a conspiracy against inexpensive web sites to enable mega corporations to have the best shop fronts again ?

I seriously doubt it. Look at the source for their pages. Do you not think they would have a "snazzier" site if that were the case. Then look at the source for Jupiter Media.
