Sending logo samples to clients

hi,
when client asks me to send him /her logo samples, I send them the samples in jpeg. Mostly we send a concept and a few varioation on the same page and make a jpeg /pdf image of it. But i have realised clients get confused in this way. what is the best way to send logo samples to clients, without confusing them, or having them ignore a good workable design.
